POSTING GUIDELINES - RULES TO LIVE (AND POST) BY So here are the basic 10 rules you need to remember about posting in our Hives (groups) & Forums. These are in addition to: The Terms of Service, Hive Guidelines. - Be nice to others, and they’ll most likely be nice to you. Name calling and personal attacks are not nice and is will be basis for a time out (3-5 days in “virtual suspension where you can’t log-in to your account).
- Tattle telling isn’t nice either. Just because Little Johnny/Jenny said your post was stupid is not a reason to come tattling to the teacher. Buck up, stick out your tongue, and grow a thick skin…remember its only words on a screen. But if Johnny/Jenny follows you from group to group, posting that you’re stupid, and generally becomes a troublesome little guy/girl, then by all means let us know. That’s considered “cyber-stalking” and won’t be tolerated.
- R.E.S.P.E.C.T.: Respect others and their opinions, especially when they differ from yours. Just because you believe one way and someone else believes another doesn’t make their belief any less valid and doesn’t make it “stupid.” Respectful debate is a wonderful thing!
- No one likes a bully or gangs. Don’t harass or verbally abuse another poster and don’t gang up on another user.
- If you don’t have anything nice to say…slurs, hate speech, stereotyping and ugly words won’t be tolerated in this playground. Don’t post something just to inflame others. Reread your post (especially if it’s on a controversial topic or in a heated debate) and maybe even think about stepping away from the keyboard for a moment or two before hitting that return key.
- Sharing isn’t always nice – don’t share personal information about yourself or others.
- My eyes! My eyes! Oh my eyes! Don’t post images of abortion or the abortion process. Don’t post content or images that are “adult” in nature including nude photos (of yourself or even those cute one’s of your kids). As magical as the experience may have been, we really really really don't want to see pictures and videos of the birth of your child. However, images/videos of breastfeeding are allowed in appropriate forums/hives.
- Advertisements and commercial solicitations are only allowed in designated areas. You can’t have images of your business or information about your business in your profile unless you are an advertiser…and only then at the appropriate levels. See our advertising section to find out how affordable advertising can be with theParentHive.
- Don’t ask other members for help in the form of money, gifts or donations. If you have a wonderful fundraiser coming up or have a favorite charity, Email us and let us know. We’ll be happy to include it on the site in an appropriate manner. TheParentHive reserves the right to make exceptions to this rule when needed.

CONSEQUENCES AND PUNISHMENT Just like any other playground, when one breaks the rules, one must be punished. TheParentHive tries to use the 3-strike method. 1) Strike 1: You'll receive an email or PM explaining what we think you did wrong. 2) Strike 2: You'll be placed in "time-out" where you'll need to pack your things and go home for a bit. The length will depend on the severity of the infraction. 3) Strike 3: That's it, you're banned from the playground. Pack up your toys, take your backpack and go find another playground. Sometimes banned users grow up and ask to come play again. Reinstatement will be on a case-by-case basis and said users will be closely monitored. Individual Hives may have have more stringent rules pertaining to a specific topic. Sometimes it may seem as if the rules aren't applied equally or some activity was permitted where other, s similar behavior was banned. We strive for consistency and equal application of the rules, but life is not black and white and sometimes circumstances exist that you may be unaware of. Please do not discuss any application of the rules (fairly or unfairly) on the forums. Please email us any concerns.
